Guatemala has taken a big step forward in modernising its trade operations with the launch of a new digital Maritime Single Window (VUMAR), rolled out in April 2024. Backed by the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation, this new system is already streamlining port procedures and saving time and money across the board.
Following the announcement of the U.S. reciprocal tariff plan, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) issued the following statement. ICC Secretary General John W.H. Denton AO stated:

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has reappointed Claudia Salomon as President of the International Court of Arbitration for a second three-year term, commencing 1 July 2024. Ms Salomon will lead the Court which includes 191 members from 119 jurisdictions. Elections by the ICC World Council, held on 11 June in Paris, were conducted in accordance with the provisions set out in the ICC constitution and statutes of the ICC Court.

The 6th ICC PANARB 2024 International Arbitration Conference concluded with great success, once again solidifying its position as a benchmark event for international arbitration in the region.
